FIRST FOOT GUARDS EVENTS, 2016
We invite you to come to our events, see what we do, and consider joining the Guards. All events are open to the public and are free except Old Sturbridge Village, Fort Ticonderoga, Colonial Williamsburg and Fort at Number 4 where there is a nominal admission fee. All events are subject to change due to weather or other cicumstances, so before attending an event, always check the event host's web site for the latest information. Many of these events repeat every year and there are photos and videos of many of them on our Photos and Videos pages.
Sat, April 9, 2016, Bedford Parade and Pole Capping, Bedford, MA, 10:30am. Colonial militia companies march from the Bedford Common, 75 Great Rd (Rte. 4&225), along Great Rd to Wilson Park where a Minuteman will proclaim freedom by shinnying up a 25-foot pole and placing a red cap on it, but British soldiers will arrive to disrupt the festivities.

Sat, April 9, 2016, Dress rehearsal for the Patriots Day battle on Lexington Green reenactment, Battle Green, Lexington center, 2-3:30pm (units arrive 1pm). (Rescheduled from Sunday, April 3, 2016 due to weather.)
Sat, April 16, 2016, Parker's Revenge, Minute Man National Historic Park, Battle Road Trail behind Minute Man Visitor Center, Rte. 2A, Lexington MA, 2pm. Hundreds of British and Colonial reenactors will engage in a tactical weapons demonstration showing the running battle that took place along this deadly stretch of road as the British column marched back to Lexington. Park at the Minuteman Regional High School.

Sat, April 16, 2016, Tower Park Battle, Munroe Tavern and Tower Park, 1332 Massachusetts Ave., Lexington MA, 4-5pm (British units arrive at Munroe Tavern 3pm). Large battle demonstration.
Sun, April 17, 2016, Battle at the Jason Russell House reenactment, 7 Jason St., corner of Massachusetts Ave, Arlington, MA, 12pm, house open for tours to 4pm.

Mon, April 18, 2016, Battle on Lexington Green reenactment, Battle Green, Lexington center, 5:30am. Recreates the events in Lexington on the morning of April 19, 1775.

Mon, April 18, 2016, Commemoration of the Battle at North Bridge, Minute Man National Historical Park, Monument St., Concord MA, 8:45am, followed by a Mourn Arms ceremony at the British graves at the North Bridge. Note, all roads in the center of Concord will be closed to vehicles beginning at 8:30am.

Sun, April 24, 2016, Revolutionary Graves Ceremony, Lincoln, MA, 2pm. March from the Pierce House, 17 Weston Rd., along Lexington Rd. to a ceremony at the Old Town Cemetery (Precinct Burial Ground, part of Lincoln Cemetery, 83 Lexington Rd.) and back.
Sat-Sun, April 30-May 1, 2016, Mount Vernon Encampment and Skirmish, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy., Mount Vernon, VA. Opposing forces tacticals both days. Period weapons and replica of Washington's campaign tent on display.

Mon, July 4, 2016, Hingham July 4th Parade, Hingham, MA, 10am step-off from Hingham High School on Pleasant St. and ending around 11am at Station St. See web site below for parade route and parking.

Sat-Sun, July 23-24, 2016, Fort Ticonderoga encampment, Ticonderoga, NY. Large-scale reenactment of the British capture of Fort Ticonderoga in July 1777 at the reconstructed stone fortress on beautiful grounds overlooking Lake Champlain.
Sat-Sun, Aug 6-7, 2016, Old Sturbridge Village encampment, Sturbridge, MA, Sat. 9am-8pm, Sun. 9am-4pm. Large scale reenactment with 800 to 1000 reenactors, many units, including artillery, and large battles both days.
Fri-Sun, Aug 19-21, 2016, Battle of Quebec, Royal Military College Saint-Jean, 15 Jacques-Cartier Nord, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec, Canada. 240th Anniversary of the American retreat from Fort St. John's, 241st Anniversary of the Siege of Ft. St. John's, and 350th Anniversary of Fort St-Jean.

Sat, Oct 22, 2016, Battle of The Red Horse Tavern, Wayside Inn, Sudbury MA. A day of military activities and battle re-enactments on the grounds of the historic Wayside Inn.
